Free Fun Weekend this upcoming weekend June 1 & 2!

The Wisconsin DNR has announced that there will be a Free Fun Weekend to allow for FREE access to all Wisconsin State Parks and Forests June 1 & 2. Whether its enjoying the fantastic views along the St. Croix River at Interstate Park, taking in the quiet at Straight Lake State Park, or strolling through Gov. Knowles State Forest, Wisconsin State Parks and Forests have a lot to offer. Wisconsin DNR invites you to enjoy them at no charge June 1 & 2. 

 

The Lions Park restrooms are open again for the season. The new restrooms outside of City Hall are also open. In addition, there is a bike repair station and water bottle fill station.

Winter Parking Reminder

A reminder that winter parking is in affect November 1 through April 15. SCFPD only enforces this when it snows and until streets are cleared curb to curb. This also applies to all municipal parking lots except for the upper parking lot of Thompson Parkway.

Sec. 36-173. - Winter parking regulations.

In accordance with Wis. Stats. § 349.13, no person shall park in any city street or public parking lot in the city between the hours of 12:00 midnight and 8:00 a.m. from November 1 to April 15.

 

10/31/23: Water Valve Shut Off has been rescheduled for Wednesday, November 1 at 5:00pm.

On Wednesday, November 1, the Public Works staff will be replacing three water valves on the watermain on South Adams Street between Kentucky and Illinois Streets. The city has coordinated with the SCRMC clinic to do this work after 5:00 pm when the clinic is closed.  To shut down the main, valves will be closed along South Adams at these intersections: Kentucky, State, and Georgia Streets and also a valve on South Washington Street near the library.  All buildings South of State Street will be without water.  This will also include all buildings on Georgia, S Jefferson, Illinois and S Washington Streets South of the library and the North campground at Interstate Park.  The included map at the bottom of this page highlights the areas in red that will be without water. 

Staff will be shutting the main down at 5:00 pm and will restore service as soon as the repairs are completed. The repairs are expected to take approximately 4-6 hours. 

Please be cautious around the crews as this work will be going into the dark.  We apologize for the inconvenience.
