2026 Sewer Utility Rate Adjustment
Let's be honest—no one likes higher utility bills, and neither does the City. The Common Council did not make this decision lightly. We recognize this adjustment will affect households and businesses throughout our community.
Following an independent financial review of the City's sewer utility, it became clear that action is necessary to restore the long-term financial sustainability of the utility and help avoid even larger increases in the future. This adjustment will help ensure the City can continue providing safe, reliable wastewater service for years to come.
The City is committed to being transparent about this decision. To help explain why the adjustment was necessary and answer common questions, we've prepared the following resources:
