Notice that the Assessment Roll is Open for Examination and of Open Book
STATE OF WISCONSIN
City of St Croix Falls, Polk County.
Pursuant to Wisconsin Statute 70.45, the assessment roll for the Year 2024 assessment will be open for examination starting on the 19th day of August, 2024 at 8:00 am until 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
Additionally, the assessor shall be available on the 28th Day of August, 2024 for Open Book. The Open Book will be held in person at City Hall, 710 Hwy 35 South, St. Croix Falls, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Please contact the assessor via email, phone or mail up to 3 days prior to the board of review date to discuss your concerns. Instructional material will be provided at the open book to persons who wish to object to valuations under Wisconsin Statutes 70.47.
NOTICE OF BOARD OF REVIEW MEETING
The Board of Review will meet on the 11th day of September, 2024, at 5:00 pm at City Hall, 710 Hwy 35 South, St Croix Falls for the purpose of calling the Board of Review into session, pursuant to Wisconsin Statute 70.47(1).

An Ordinance Amending Zoning Code Sec 40-440
The Common Council of the City of St. Croix Falls do ordain as follows:
DIVISION 10 – HIGHWAY COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (B-2) CHAPTER 40: Section 440 – Permitted Uses of the Code of Ordinances is revised to add the following:

(16) Hospitals, Clinics and Related Uses
SECTION II: This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage and publication as provided by law.

The City of St. Croix Falls has reached a settlement on three vacant buildings in its historic downtown.

St. Croix Falls, WI – The City of St. Croix Falls is pleased to announce that they have reached a settlement agreement with the property owner, Richard Anderson.
As part of the settlement, the city has executed a purchase agreement to acquire 101, 107, and 136 North Washington Street, and a vacant parcel owned by Mr. Anderson.
The city anticipates using various revitalization programs for each of the properties. The city has plans to sell all the properties and potential buyers are welcome to contact the city.
Mayor Anderson stated, “the city is pleased to arrive at a settlement, bringing this matter to a resolution. The community will now be able to move forward, and the reuse of these properties will add to the revitalization efforts underway downtown. It will also be nice to utilize the time and resources used for enforcement and legal costs for more productive purposes.”

This is a reminder of the City's regulations on burning:
(a) No person shall kindle any fire within the City of St Croix Falls between March 30st and October 31st.
(b) Fires must be attended by someone over the age of 16 until the fire is extinguished. Items to be burned are restricted to tree branches, firewood and untreated unpainted lumber. Leaves should be composted and may not be burned.
(c) The City of St Croix Falls prohibits any person from kindling or causing to be kindled any fire in or upon any street, alley, public way, park or any public or private property within the City within 15 feet of any building or within 10 feet of any property line or within any fire lane.

Access to City Hall will continue to be restricted during this emergency and the City encourages resident to call or email the City with concerns and question rather than visiting City Hall. When paying utility bills we encourage residents to pay online or use the drop box at City Hall.
There is an upcoming election on May 12th for the 7th Congressional District. The voter registration deadline for this election is April 22nd, the deadline for requesting an absentee ballot by mail is May 7th, and the deadline to vote in person is 5:00 p.m. on May 8th. Access to City will always remain open for absentee voting.

3/16/2020 - Press Release - Coronavirus
In response to the increased level of concern for the CORONAVIRUS, and the Governor’s Declaration of Emergency, the Mayor of the City of St. Croix Falls is cancelling all city committee meetings and restricting access at City Hall offices to absentee voting and emergency needs until April 15th, 2020. Staff is working with the City Council to schedule a meeting via teleconference, per State guidance, to decide on postponing City Council meetings until April 15th. City staff, Public Works, Police, Fire and Court personnel will continue working. City Hall can be contacted at 715 483-3929, Court at 715 483-1533, Police and Public Works at 715 483-9282 (911 for any emergency).
The municipal court date of March 18th will take place at City Hall. The April 1st and April 15th court dates are cancelled. All trials and appearances for April will be rescheduled.
The protocol for the spring election will be announced by the State Election Board and followed by the City of St. Croix Falls. Any questions can be directed to City Hall at 715 483-3929
The City encourages all citizens to follow the CDC guidelines to prevent the spread of the virus:
- Hand Washing – Wash your hands with soap and water for a minimum of 20 – 30 seconds. If soap and water is unavailable, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Cover all surfaces of your hands and rub them together.
- Avoid Touching Eyes, Nose, and Mouth and Avoid touching your face with unwashed hands.
- Avoid coughing into Hands – The Center for disease control (CDC) recommends sneezing or coughing into a tissue and then throwing the tissue away.
- Stay Home – If you are sick, stay home from work.
- Avoid Close Contact – The CDC is recommending that when in public people keep a social distance of 6 feet.
- Animals – Do not handle pets or animals while sick.
- Facemask – If you become sick contact your health-care provider. Wear a facemask when you are around other people or pets and before you enter a health care providers office. The CDC does not recommend people who are well wear a facemask to protect themselves from respiratory diseases, including COVID-19.
The City encourages other community organizations to continually assess their risk and consider limiting the size of their gatherings or cancelling them.
